STUDIO: Elli Moody

I live in a small village in rural Gloucestershire, with my husband, two little boys and a very big dog.

After a degree in Illustration I worked in education for five years. When I left full time work to look after my children, I started designing and now produce my own range of greeting cards and prints. Our house isn't huge so I don't have a dedicated workspace -

I work mostly from the kitchen table, which I have to share with these two... It can get quite frustrating having to tidy up whichever project I've got on the go, but I have a lovely cupboard which I can stash all my materials in - pile of paper, paints and pencils, fabric and my sewing machine.

My cupboard is a little oasis of organisation in a pretty chaotic home - sometimes I just stick my head in the cupboard to enjoy the peace and quiet!

I sketch a lot - I use up a lot of spiral bound A5 sketchpads and also come home each day with random pieces of paper covered in lists, doodles and ideas.

I then scan in my sketches and do some fiddling around in Photoshop.

My computer is in the living room, ideally situated so I can keep an eye on what the boys are up to, whilst catching up on my emails, updating my blog, and playing with designs and new ideas.

I dream of 'a room of my own' but I don't know if I would be as productive shut away from my family, who are, after all, my main inspiration.
