Call for Makers: The Selvedge Fair comes to Pendle

Selvedge Fair Pendle

The Selvedge Fair travels to Lancashire for the first 'Fabrications festival', at the Pendle Heritage Centre, a 17th century former farmhouse in Barrowford.

A collection of 26 designer-makers will come together to showcase and sell their textile treasures, which will range from jewellery, fashion and leatherware to beautiful textile creations.

Selvedge Fairs are beautifully curated by the team behind the internationally-renowned textile magazine, Selvedge.

Founder, Polly Leonard says: “You can go anywhere in the world and as long as you’re with people who love textiles – you are in some way home.”

The Selvedge Fair in Pendle is part of a month-long textile festival, Fabrications. Drawing on Lancashire’s rich textile heritage, Fabrications is a festival that celebrates textiles and the textile industry through the eyes of artists. Taking place in galleries, museums and former textile mills across Blackburn, Hyndburn, Burnley and Pendle throughout September, it will bring together exhibitions, residencies, major art installations, performances, a symposium, workshops, and the Selvedge Fair.

Places for exhibitors at the Selvedge Fair are understandably sought-after, and if you would like to apply to be there, visit: https://www.selvedge.org/pages/exhibit-at-a-selvedge-event
